The fractured moonlight bludgeoned its way through the clouds and splintered through the trees. Jagged shadows stirred and spread across the ground, pulsating in the cracked light. The night was alive! A veritable playground for the wicked and cursed. A prelude to Halloween.

It’s hard to believe we’re in the final days of October. A favored month whose visit always seems too short. She’s been a real beauty, October, and I pine for her return. Sunday is Halloween, so enjoy and be safe, and remember we’ll soon be “Falling Back” as we bid adieu to Daylight Savings Time. Sweeter words, I cannot imagine. An extra hour of sleep.

“Come dance with me, whispered the wind, under the light of the moon.
Twirl amongst the fallen leaves, waltz with a witch’s broom.
Frolic through the evening mist up to the forest fringe.
Curtsy to those hiding there, invite them to join in.
Rejoice with me spirits and specters, goblins, ghouls and ghosts.
‘Tis a party tonight! It’s Halloween, and Autumn is our host!”
