Thanksgiving approaches and is an ideal time to count our blessings and express our thanks. Last year, you may recall, we had made a Thankful Tree. Branches were plucked from the yard and haphazardly arranged in a pitcher. Paper leaves were scattered across the table, and each guest was asked to express their gratitude on a leaf and attach it to the tree. Leaves were read aloud and thoughtful smiles and silent accord surrounded the table. It was truly a moment to be cherished. The tradition continues, and last year’s leaves will remain while new leaves are added, and we’ll continue until the tree is outfitted with a spectacular canopy of blessings.
Next week I would like to dedicate the blog to the hard-working, dedicated, and loyal staff at Sweeney’s. The unsung and unassuming heroes will take center stage while we offer our heartfelt gratitude.
“There is not a more pleasing exercise of the mind than gratitude. It is accompanied with such an inward satisfaction that the duty is sufficiently rewarded by the performance.”
-Joseph Addison
Best wishes,
Kim Sweeney
