While we all know that Fall is the ideal time to plant, upgrade our landscapes and repair our damaged lawns, it’s also a good time for landscape bargains. Oh yeah, bargains are to be had and now is the time to get in on the savings. Consider the following:
Perennials – In anticipation of cold weather, garden centers offer perennials at deeply discounted prices. Make sure you plant them immediately as they’ll need up to six weeks prior to the 1st frost.
Roses – Fall roses can ge great bargains. Consider hardier varieties when purchasing.
Outdoor furniture and garden tools – Look to large retailers for the best prices as they simply don’t have the space to store such items.
Trees & shrubs – Don’t be put off by a few missing leaves as it’s usually just a sign of seasonal dropping of leaves or sometimes just a mild form of stress from a long stay in a container.
“By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.”
– Helen Hunt Jackson
